Certified English–Spanish translation in Chile.
Get your English or Spanish documents translated with direct attention from the professional responsible for the work. Share the document and the receiving institution’s instructions so I can confirm the translation, certification and delivery format you need.
A privately certified translation does not automatically replace an official MINREL translation, notarization, apostille or legalization. Confirm the required format before commissioning the work.

What a certified translation includes
The agreed service covers the document’s content, with tables, notes, stamps, signatures and other relevant elements translated or identified as appropriate. A translator’s certification statement identifies the professional, the assignment and the language direction.
A Chilean Advanced Electronic Signature (FEA) can be included when appropriate to the agreed delivery format. It is not an apostille and does not determine whether an institution will accept the translation.
What to send for a quote
Identify the receiving institution, the country where the document will be used and your requested date. Include all pages and any written requirements when files are available. You can start without attachments if you need to discuss handling arrangements first.
Documents we can review
Certification may be relevant to a range of submissions. The document type alone does not establish the required formality.
- Birth, marriage, death and criminal record certificates.
- Diplomas, transcripts and other academic records.
- Immigration, employment and family documentation.
- Contracts, powers of attorney, judgments and company records.
- Administrative, tax and institutional documents within the English–Spanish language pair.
From the recipient’s instructions to delivery
Send a complete, legible file and the recipient’s written requirements. I review the translation direction, purpose and format before confirming the service. If the instructions expressly require MINREL, that institutional route must be followed.
The quote sets out the scope, price, timing and deliverables. Names, dates, numbers, terminology and references are reviewed before delivery in the agreed format.
What affects the price?
Text density and repetition matter more than page count alone. A civil certificate and a complex contract require different research and review. Tables, columns, scans, certification and urgency also affect the work.
Sebastián Cortés reviews each assignment directly. Send all pages, including attachments and any authentication pages, so the quote reflects the complete package.
Plan your delivery
Short assignments of up to five pages usually take 1–3 business days, subject to complexity, format and availability. Timing is confirmed in the quote. Urgent delivery from 24 hours may be available for short documents by prior agreement.
Larger packages are planned by volume and priorities. Review the service terms for indicative schedules, payment and delivery conditions.

Before you send your documents
Is MINREL required for every document?
No. Follow the receiving institution’s specific requirement. If it accepts an independent translator’s certification, that may be an appropriate service; it is not interchangeable with MINREL by default.
Can I send a scan or a photograph?
Yes, if every part is legible. Before work begins, we confirm whether the recipient requires a particular type of source copy.
Can the certificate carry FEA?
Yes, when this is part of the agreed service and suitable for the intended recipient. Confirm electronic document requirements, especially for use outside Chile.
Who signs the translator’s statement?
Sebastián Cortés Sepúlveda is the professional responsible for the agreed translation and certification. His court-expert status and COTICH membership are distinct from institutional acceptance.
Have a document for review?
Describe the documents, readers, purpose and any recipient instructions. Start without attachments if needed. You’ll receive a proposal with scope, timing and price before work begins.
