Terms of service.

Timing and terms are confirmed in writing. Each assignment is assessed by volume, subject matter, format, purpose and requested date. The final quote takes precedence over these indicative ranges.

Indicative turnaround

The following ranges are indicative and are confirmed before work begins. Complex projects, poorly legible documents, special formats or formal requirements may need more time.

  • Up to 5 pages: usually 1–3 business days, subject to complexity, format and availability.
  • 6–15 pages: usually 2–5 business days, always confirmed in the quote.
  • Larger volumes: timing is set by project, considering word count, subject matter, number of files, layout and delivery dates.
  • Urgent work: from 24 hours for short documents when workload permits and subject to express confirmation.

Payment

For individual clients, work begins after advance payment of 100% of the quote. For businesses and law firms, payment terms, purchase orders or other arrangements must be agreed before work begins. No corporate payment arrangement is assumed without confirmation.

Urgency surcharge

Assignments requiring priority over the normal schedule may carry a surcharge starting at 25%. Requests for delivery in less than 24 hours, work outside normal hours, weekends or holidays may carry a higher surcharge. The percentage and availability are confirmed before work begins.

Quote validity

Unless stated otherwise, quotes remain valid for 10 calendar days. If the document, scope, requested date or delivery requirements change, the price and timing may be adjusted.

Delivery

Delivery is digital, by email or through the agreed channel. Certification and Advanced Electronic Signature are included when they form part of the contracted service.

Review and corrections

If you identify an error attributable to the translation work, you may request a review within 30 days after delivery at no additional charge.

Changes to the original

Changes, new versions, added pages or amendments to the source document after work has begun or been delivered may require an additional quote.

Formatting

The original structure is retained where reasonable. Complex replicas, forms, tables, seals, stamps or specialized design may affect timing and price.

Confidentiality

Documents are handled confidentially and solely to assess, carry out and deliver the assignment. A confidentiality agreement may be signed when the client requires one.

Institutional requirements

The appropriate service depends on the receiving body. We can explain common options, but final acceptance is determined by the institution receiving the document.

Incomplete or illegible documents

If the material does not allow the work to proceed reliably, the assignment may be paused until a legible copy or the information needed to continue is received.

Project-specific terms

The proposal for each project may set specific terms for timing, payment, format, certification or delivery that take precedence over these general terms.

Remote projects and institutional purchasing

Sebastián Cortés provides the service from Chile. Scope, delivery channel, requested date and applicable project terms are agreed in writing with clients in Chile and overseas. Any currency, invoicing or payment arrangements are confirmed directly in the proposal.

Organizations should disclose vendor onboarding, purchase orders and special document-handling requirements before acceptance. An initial inquiry can describe the project without attachments.
