Court expert translator registered with Chile’s Judiciary.
Sebastián Cortés Sepúlveda provides English–Spanish document translation with the professional background of a translator listed in Chile’s Judiciary expert register and a member of COTICH No. 514.
Registration is a professional credential. It does not make every private assignment a court-appointed engagement or guarantee admissibility in any proceeding.
What a court expert translator does
An expert translator works with written documents where professional identification, specialist knowledge or expert participation is relevant. The court, proceeding and recipient determine whether an expert’s involvement is required.
For a proposed judicial assignment, share the court, jurisdiction, case purpose and any directions concerning appointment or certification. Supporting professional details are provided as appropriate to the engagement.
Written materials for judicial use
The translation is scoped around the role of each document in the proceeding. Relevant materials may include:
- Judgments, orders and procedural decisions.
- Pleadings, claims, responses and appeals.
- Expert reports, declarations and documentary evidence.
- Contracts, powers of attorney and financial or company records included in a case file.
Agree on the formalities first
Confirm whether the recipient requires a translator’s statement, electronic or handwritten signature, paper copy or another formality. Certification is not a substitute for a specific procedural appointment.
Legible scans can be reviewed for quoting. The required source copy, delivery format and any staged delivery of large files are confirmed before translation.
Translation and interpreting are different
Document translation concerns written texts. Hearings, testimony and other spoken exchanges require interpreting. A request for an interpreter should not be treated as a written translation assignment.
COTICH membership is a separate professional affiliation; it does not confer a court appointment.
