Birth certificate translation for Chile.

Translate birth records and their annotations for study, employment, family documentation or other institutional purposes. The country and receiving institution determine the required formality.

Do not assume one certified format works for every civil registry, consular or immigration procedure. Request the exact instructions before ordering.

Every identifying detail matters

A birth certificate concentrates details that must match the rest of a document package.

  • Names, dates and places of birth.
  • Parentage and identifying information.
  • Registration numbers, issuing authorities and annotations.
  • Relevant stamps, signatures, reverse sides and attached certificates.

English to Spanish or Spanish to English

Foreign birth records can be translated into Spanish when the Chilean recipient requires it and accepts the proposed format. Chilean records can also be translated into English for institutions abroad.

Names and identifying data follow the original. The translation should not resolve a discrepancy by silently changing an entry; any issue needs clarification.

Authentication and institutional instructions

Send the complete record, including any apostille, legalization or reverse-side content. Authentication and translation are distinct steps, and the recipient decides their required scope and sequence.

Birth registration, nationality, residence and university submissions may follow different rules. If an institution expressly requires a Ministry or consular translation, a private certificate does not replace it.

A specific consular birth-registration example

Chilean consular guidance accepts a non-official translation of the birth certificate and apostille when they are not in Spanish. That instruction applies to the cited registration procedure; other recipients may set different requirements.

Before you send your documents

Should the apostille be included in the file?

Yes, include it for review if it is part of the document package. We confirm the translation scope against the recipient’s instructions.

Does an English birth certificate always need translation for residence?

Not automatically. Check the applicable SERMIG procedure; separate civil registry or consular requirements may differ.

Can you correct a name in the certificate?

A translation preserves the source information. Corrections to the underlying civil record must be handled with the appropriate issuing authority.

Have a document for review?

Describe the documents, readers, purpose and any recipient instructions. Start without attachments if needed. You’ll receive a proposal with scope, timing and price before work begins.
