Immigration document translation for Chile.

Prepare personal, family and employment documents around the actual requirements of your application. Send the authority’s instructions so we can confirm whether an independent English–Spanish translation is appropriate.

English originals do not automatically require Spanish translation. SERMIG’s temporary residence guidance specifies authorized official translations for documents in languages other than Spanish or English.

Check the procedure before ordering

Requirements vary by destination, residence category and receiving institution. An instruction for one application should not be assumed to cover another.

Share the official checklist or message you received, together with the country of issue, intended recipient and submission deadline. Translation and any apostille or legalization requirements are separate questions.

Personal, family and employment records

Where translation is required, the scope can include:

  • Birth, marriage, death and criminal record certificates.
  • Employment contracts, employer certificates, experience letters and remuneration records.
  • Records of spouses, children and family relationships.
  • Documents for executives, professionals and teams relocating between Chile and other countries.

A complete and legible source

Include reverse sides, notes, seals and authentication pages if present. Names, identifiers and dates need to remain consistent across the package.

The translation does not extend the validity of an original certificate. Check issue-date limits and any request for a newer document directly with the authority before commissioning work.

The right certification and delivery format

If your instructions use “official,” “sworn” or “certified,” ask who may issue the translation. A private certification or FEA is not a substitute for an expressly required institutional service.

I provide translation support, not immigration representation or advice on eligibility. The receiving authority decides the application and acceptance of documents.

Before you send your documents

Do I need to translate an English birth certificate for residence?

Not automatically under the cited temporary residence language criterion. Check the specific application and any separate civil registry or other institutional requirement.

Can you translate Chilean records into English for use abroad?

Yes. Provide the destination authority’s translation and certification requirements before work begins.

Does a translation renew an expired certificate?

No. The authority sets document validity requirements; translation leaves the original issue date unchanged.

Have a document for review?

Describe the documents, readers, purpose and any recipient instructions. Start without attachments if needed. You’ll receive a proposal with scope, timing and price before work begins.
